The Gospel of Isolation is Fake News

Bad news is the right title. Study any predator and they always go after the weakest and most isolated prey animal in the flock or herd. And undeterred they’ll eventually pick off the whole flock or herd. All the animals of a spieces of prey are vunerable if that species is solitary. We are all “sin sick”. Our survival depends on our togetherness.

So – get with the body of saints before you’re picked off!

Respecting the American Flag

I appreciate people’s desire to honor our flag. But do we honor the flag when we ignore that the vision of the Declaration of Independence is not fully realized? “All men are created equal and endowed by their Creator with Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness”. People tell me you can’t legislate love. That’s not the point. But legislating access is. For white mobs to burn down black business districts (a less subtle form of urban renewal), to allow the KKK to intimidate by lynchings to prevent equal education and access to voting, and to see a population that has only 1% of the generational wealth of whites and to insist there’s NO EVIDENCE of racial differentiation in our society, I believe dishonors our flag!

Will we be faithful to Jesus?

Excellent post from Michael Wilson in God Thoughts. I believe he’s captured the very essence of Christian men who find their strength in Jesus. Will we be faithful to Jesus? | Jesus Quotes and God Thoughts (

I wrote in response: “Excellent scriptures you’ve listed for this topic. This is where I see that “Faithfulness is a matter of strength and direction”. It all comes from the Holy Spirit and fellow saints who come alongside.”

An interesting question don’t you think? Lazarus and his sisters show up in scripture several times. In scripture Jesus only wept over his friend Lazarus. But didn’t Jesus die for everyone – past sins, present sins, and future sins? The questions below will help us understand our faith more.

  1. Did he weep because he had to call Lazarus back from Heaven?
  2. Did he feel sorry for Mary and Martha for being late in coming?
  3. Are Calvinists correct in saying Jesus only shed His blood for those who would accept Him?
  4. Can a Christian sin enough for God to erase his name from the Book of Life?

I have been in several ministries. An they would call their ministry “holistic”.

holistic[hōˈlistik] ADJECTIVE is a philosophy characterized by comprehension of the parts of something as intimately interconnected and explicable only by reference to the whole. Medically characterized by the treatment of the whole person, taking into account mental and social factors, rather than just the physical symptoms of a disease.

I’m going to work on this issue for a good amount of time. Probably from the viewpoint of Chrisitan men. Because it is my sincere belief that only through Christ can a man be truly “whole”.

I know a young man who’s worked in this area some who I hope to invite to help me on theis journey. If it succeds I will start a subdomain dedicated to this issue alone. And I will also try to copyright it.
