Here it states the phrase “He (Jesus) is the head of the body, the church”. that is not considered very often in the church. It is true that church leaders will say this. Yet at the same time they put people in between God and the congregation.
The key factor in maintaining an addiction is enabling. This enabling allows the addict to experience no consequences for their destructive habits. And a person who is co-dependent also will not function well if they don’t have some way to shelter the addict.
Billy Graham said a better word than “poor” is “humble”. Don’t confuse humble with humiliated. Humble is the opposite of being prideful. Not having to always have our way, but to be able to defer to others.
As men how truly adventuresome are we? Don’t we all aspire to be significant? And in what way? Does our spiritual life figure into this equation?
The fear of the LORD comes because of our inherent sinful nature which will not allow us to love God and to put God above us. The sin of Adam and Eve was to buy into Satan’s lie and to put ourselves in the place of God. They forfeited that birthright to Satan who rules the dark forces of this world.
