Wisdom claims to be qualified to speak of truth and righteousness. Many people today claim to know truth. And conspiracy theories are believed by many. It is difficult to know truth except for the character of the person speaking. How can we attest to wisdom’s claims to be righteous and truthful?
I think there are a great number of shortfalls in the characters of American men. But first I’m going to try to define what a Godly man should look like. And I’m going to be honest and not use myself as an example.
Fake News is the news of the day. What makes fake news is when someone we disagree with advocates for a point of view that we feel is not valid.
Did you realize that Salvation is based on a merit system? But that merit has been won by only one person. Jesus Christ was not only perfect but the perfect lamb to sacrifice for the sins of mankind.
I believe this short chapter in the Old Testament is loaded with meaning we can use today. This scripture ties these three elements together into a package we can all relate to.
Jesus prayed that the disciples would build the church after Jesus was resurrected. Now He prays for us as the results of their evangelism and the generations of believers through the ages.
In spite of our battle with sin we are still “unblamable and unreprovable in his sight”. We not only have hope, but a sure hope, an assurance of our salvation and a home prepared for us in Heaven. Dwelling on this point and the joy we share with the saints is like driving down the highway and staying in the lane.
The word “meek” implies a gentle and peaceful manner. A person who’s words of truth speak louder than the most boisterous person.
The beloved son is Jesus. But who is he? The son of Joseph and Mary? A wise man or a prophet? An advocate for change, for social justice, a man who died before his ministry was finished? A man who is dead? And a man who is outdated?
