As men how truly adventuresome are we? Don’t we all aspire to be significant? And in what way? Does our spiritual life figure into this equation?
When we read(/study) the Bible we should look for applications; not for others but for ourselves. Do we have a personal record of transformation (called sanctification) that we can point to as part of Christ’s redeeming grace? Our task is just to listen to their story, their hurts, and to their hearts. This is the point of having empathy which is more than sympathy.
Ever wonder why Job was admonished at the end of this story? We all know his three friends were admonished also. But what about the fourth man Elihu? And why did God interrupt him but did not admonish him?
The fear of the LORD comes because of our inherent sinful nature which will not allow us to love God and to put God above us. The sin of Adam and Eve was to buy into Satan’s lie and to put ourselves in the place of God. They forfeited that birthright to Satan who rules the dark forces of this world.
Did you miss it? I know I did – often. I’ve discovered I’ve been looking for the silver lining in white clouds. I’ve learned I should have been looking in dark clouds. After all isn’t that the saying “every cloud has a silver lining”?
Abortion is the most divisive issue in our country and in politics. On both sides of the issue is the same – the rights of the living. But who is the living? It’s really this question that people argue.

The total commitment of men to their Godly roles depends on a single question: “how do I appear to You Jesus?” If our walk with Him depends on the opinions of others, we will fall short as only Jesus is perfect, is God, and knows us perfectly.
