Recently I discovered in Psalm 101 a prayer that is directed at a nation that is in danger from corrupting influences of deserting the disciplines that have made our nation great. And I believe the family is our (and God’s) most sacred institution.
Agape’ love is selfless, sacrificial, unconditional love. It is the highest of the four types of love in the Bible. Fake News is the news of the day. What makes fake news is when someone we disagree with advocates for a point of view that we feel is not valid.
Did you realize that Salvation is based on a merit system? But that merit has been won by only one person. Jesus Christ was not only perfect but the perfect lamb to sacrifice for the sins of mankind.
The two most intimate settings in a person’s life is their family and their place of work. In the case of the home the husband is the accountable person to God for ther family.
We cannot understand our present troubles until we trust in God and give our concerns up to God. Then we need to trust in God’s timetable and be ready to accept what He sends our way. If a person has made bad choices or been the victim of crime, there may indeed be consequences that may change their current circumstances permanently. Still we need to trust. Don’t abandon the ship before God gives a solution.
Rick Warren writes “Many Church Fellowships and Small Groups remain superficial because they are afraid of conflict.” But real Spiritual growth and maturity take deliberate efforts, thoughtfulness, and commitment to do the hard work sculpting a new person who is accountable to God and his church community to be a strong, loving, and effective Christian who attracts non-believers.
